Guide to Academy Royale
In this guide, we’ll take a deep dive into every aspect of Academy Royale, covering all the core gameplay mechanics from start to finish.

What’s the game about?
Academy Royale is a competitive game mode within Open Academy, where knowledge is your ultimate weapon — and only the sharpest minds make it to the top.

Each match unfolds in real time: all players receive the same questions simultaneously and must choose their answers as fast as they can. Your score depends not just on accuracy, but also on speed (the faster you respond, the more points you earn).
Correct answer: +5 to +20 points
Wrong answer: −5 points
Skip: penalty applied, plus a chance of being eliminated from the match
Each round consists of three questions. After every round, you’ll see the current standings and starting from Round 2, the lowest-scoring player is eliminated.
Victory Rewards
Winners earn MMR, SC, and climb the leaderboard, unlocking new leagues along the way.
MMR (Matchmaking Rating) determines your position on the leaderboard and your current League tier. 1st place: +24 MMR 2nd place: +12 MMR 3rd place: no change 4th place: −12 MMR
SC is the project’s internal currency. You can find your SC balance in the player profile within Academy Royale(formerly known as NUTS). When you win, you don’t just gain MMR — you also earn SC.
League is one of the key indicators of a player’s personal rating. It’s used by the matchmaking system to pair players with others of similar knowledge and skill levels.
How to Play
To start a game, head to the main screen of the app. Here you’ll find the main navigation elements, your profile information, and the Start Search button to begin searching for a game.

Choose a Game Mode
To start matchmaking, select your game mode and server at the bottom of the main screen. Currently, only Classic Mode and the European server are available. Once you’ve made your selection, tap Start Search to begin.

The Duel mode and additional servers will be introduced in future updates.
Matchmaking
Once you’ve selected a mode, the system will automatically start searching for a room. When opponents are found, you’ll need to confirm the match before the timer runs out by pressing Confirm.

How many players can join a room?
At this stage, each room can host up to 4 players. The maximum room size may be increased in future updates.
Pre-Game Setup
At the start of each match, every player selects three topics they’d like to exclude. Once everyone has voted, the topics with the most votes are removed from the question pool.
Gameplay
When the round begins, players receive a question, four answer options, and 15 seconds to choose. You must select your answer before the timer runs out — otherwise, it will automatically count as incorrect.

Why do correct answers give different amounts of points?
The number of points you earn for a correct answer depends not only on accuracy, but also on how quickly you respond.
After each round (three questions), you’ll see the current standings showing the interim results.

Players also receive a Bonus Chest after every round, offering a choice between two reward options.
There are two types of bonuses:
Buffs — boost your own performance.
Debuffs — hinder your opponents.
Tap a bonus icon to view its description and activate it when needed. All bonuses you earn are stored in your Inventory, accessible from the bottom panel.
End of the Game
At the end of each match, players can view their results including their placement, total points earned, question stats, and the amount of rating points gained or lost.

Interface Overview & Additional Features

At the top of the screen, you’ll see a panel displaying your key information including your nickname, #ID, game stats, win rate, your League, and your SC balance within Academy Royale.

To explore your achievements and progress in more detail, tap the panel to open your profile page.
In your profile, you can adjust app settings (sound, language), view your battle history and results, and track your achievements along with your progress toward completing them.

In this tab, you can manage your in-app contacts. Search for friends by their #ID, accept or decline friend requests, and view your friends list.

You can add friends in two ways: enter their ID in the search field, or share your Academy Royale invite link using the button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Leaderboard
The Leaderboard displays the top players in the Academy Royale arena, along with your current ranking among them. Player stats are updated daily.
